Try, Try, Try Again

I have started logging my food once again. Very confusing. I have some friends that I grew up with that use My Fittness Pal. So I have joined that site to keep in touch with them. But my favorite site is still www.loseit.com . This is the site that is my "true" accountability. My husband and I have been logging our food and exercise since October 2011. A little time consuming but each site has different things that I like about them. I try to get both sites as accurate to each other as possible. Hubby says my OCD kicks in big time. I like to manually add each food, not use the database that comes with each site. And each site links up with my fitbit. It is really hard to get 10,000 steps each day.

Last month I met with a nutritionist. She worked out a meal plan for me that breaks down the calorie count for each meal. Also I am to do at least 30 minutes of exercise daily. I have just now got in the groove of this. One month later. See what I mean about being a procrastinator. My next meeting with her is in August. At that time we will retake my measurements and she will look at my food log. I am trying to find my exercise niche. Something that I like and will stick with. I am using the treadmill and elliptical at the present. I need to sit down with a calendar and get a routine established. I also have the KettleWorx DVDs. Let me tell you this will kick your butt. I did the introduction, 20 minutes and could not sit down without moaning and groaning. So I didn't do that for another 3 weeks. But I started it again this week and it is going much better. Maybe because I have done the elliptical and treadmill. I am building muscle and stamina I guess. Because I have only lost 2 more pounds.

My next project blogwise is to start adding pictures. Also I want to be able to blog from my mobile phone. All in all I am feeling better about this journey.

Until next time

Why Am I Not Losing?

It seems I have hit a plateau. I have not lost any weight since the initial 15 pounds. I would have thought that would come at a later date, not 15 pounds. I have stayed within my daily calorie allowance. The only thing I can contribute the non weight loss to is lack of exercise. I am so horrible at exercising. So inconsistent. I moved the eliptical trainer into the house a couple of weeks ago. I used it religiously the first 15 pound loss. But my knees hurt so bad that I backed off for a while. Wrong thing to do!This got me out of the exercise routine. Next step is to find a exercise that I can do that doesn't make my knees hurt anymore than they do. I have a couple of dvds I am going to try this week. When the weather permits I am going to resume walking around our neighborhood. I am not a cold weather outdoors person. I want to start uploading photos of what I eat. Also figure out how to blog from my mobile phone or tablet. I keep getting an error message. Hubby was home for less than 24 hours. Otherwise I would have him to get me started on the mobile blogging. I just hate to ask him when he needs to relax and regroup. Hopefully he will be home longer next weekend. He has done excellent on  his weight loss. Why is it that men lose quicker than women. It's not fair. But I am not giving up. I have an appointment with the dietician at the hospital next week. Hopefully she can give me some pointers. She asked me to bring my last four weeks of my food diary. She said to bring them and we would go over them to see if we can figure out a solution.

Until Next Time....

Progress

I haven't blogged since Christmas. But I have stayed on track. Which is a big accomplishment for me. I am doing great on my weight loss. I have lost 14 pounds so far. I can't believe it. I have logged everything I have ate since December. I am using Lose It! to track my food and exercise. My husband bought us both a Fitbit pedometer. I like it because it downloads your steps to your Fitbit account. It even tracks your sleep pattern when you wear it at night. I try to exercise at least 4 times a week. Using the ellitiptcal is my favorite activity other than walking. And let me tell you that getting 10,000 steps daily is really hard for me at times. I also have the Kettleworx dvds . OMG when I do these it kicks my butt. I am so sore the next couple of days. So far I am enjoying this journey. I haven't gotten bored or discouraged. I am beginning to notice a change in the way my clothes are fitting also. My work uniform is getting really loose. I am going to have to buy a smaller pair of scrubs. This is a good thing. I hope to be down quite a bit before my son's wedding in July. I think that was the push I needed to get motivated. I do not want to look like the fat mother-in-law in the wedding photos. I am so excited that I am finally on track.

Until Next Time....
